Every year on April 22, we celebrate World Earth Day. On this occasion, at the Marshal’s Office of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, international discussions were held about innovative solutions in waste management in the context of updating the voivodeship waste management plan. The meeting was opened by Deputy Marshal Renata Janik.
The event organized by the Department of Environment and Waste Management was attended by representatives of science, represented by the Institute of Mineral and Energy Economy of the Polish Academy of Sciences from Krakow, as well as business from EPRD Sp. z o. o. in Kielce and PGO Sp. z o. o. from Promnik. The meeting was international. It was attended by the authors of the innovative HTC technology from Belgium and Spain, who presented interesting solutions for the treatment of biodegradable waste. Wioletta Czarnecka, the director of the Department of Environment and Waste Management of the Marshal’s Office, discussed the region’s needs in selected areas of waste management. Prof. dr hab. Eng. Zygmunt Kowalski from IGSMiE PAN.
The importance of such expert meetings due to the constant need to raise standards in environmental protection, including waste management, emphasized Deputy Marshal Renata Janik . And as she pointed out – the natural environment has a significant impact on the quality of life of the inhabitants of our region. Hence, the search for innovative solutions in this area is desirable, but it also requires extensive consultations of a scientific, social and economic nature, in the spirit of sustainable development.
