Development of the optimal business case for industrial introduction of these technologies

BioRen pilot plant at Ostend, Belgium

Testing engine performance and fuel consumption of the produced biofuels.
These second generation biofuels, will be subject to extensive engine tests at the University of Lund in Sweden via assessment of:

  • Engine performance
  • Emission specifications
  • Fuel consumption

The process will be subject to a Lifecycle Analysis and the development of optimal business cases for industrial production. The first industrial application of these processes developed by the BioRen consortium will be introduced at the RenaSci integrated MSW processing plant on Ostend Belgium. All stakeholders will be able to catch a first glimpse of the future of waste processing and second generation biofuel production at this facility.
